Torrington is the leader in 3A East football

Torrington is the top seed in 3A East football as they are 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Blazers survived a challenge from Buffalo on Friday, prevailing 23-14, leaving Buffalo with back-to-back narrow losses and leaving the Bison at 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Torrington got off to a fantastic start in this game as quarterback Ryan Moorehouse ran into the end zone from 10 yards out to give the Blazers a 7-0 lead. Moorehouse then threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Drew Kramer to extend the lead to 14.

Buffalo got right back into the game with a 1-yard TD run by Tommy Wonka. But Moorehouse was on fire in the first half, throwing another touchdown pass to Kramer that traveled 72 yards to give the Blazers a 14-yard lead. Torrington added a safety in the 2nd quarter and Buffalo came back with a score of their own at 55 scoops and score from James Ihnat. At halftime the score was 23-14.

Not a single point was scored in the second half, so the respective defenses worked with some robustness. It was a great win for Torrington and a tough loss for Buffalo. The season continues this Friday with Torrington hosting Riverton and Buffalo hosting Douglas.
