Another cool day before the mild weather returns

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Tuesday will be less gloomy overall than Monday, but it will still be chilly. In fact, Tuesday will be our coolest day we have the rest of the week. This afternoon the wind will be gusty again; Gusts could reach 25-30 mph this afternoon. This will keep the wind chill at 30 to 40 degrees for most of the day. A few showers cannot be ruled out, but rain or storms will not be as severe as Monday.

The wind will shift from north to south and southwest on Wednesday and will remain from the south for the rest of the week. This will bring us significantly warmer temperatures on Wednesday and beyond. By the end of the week we will reach highs near 70°.

By the end of the week, temperatures will be well above average again.

The rain has been helpful the last few days. It’s a good thing we made it because the chance of rain dropped on Saturday. The rain appears to be isolated at this time and is still a trend light for those who receive rain.

Further frost and freezing conditions are expected as it will be very cool over the next few mornings. On Wednesday morning we will have the coolest temperatures in the mid 20s in the Northwoods and upper 20s farther south. Immediately afterwards the mild air returns.

There will be a gusty wind blowing from the north on Tuesday, making us colder than we would otherwise be.
