Anne Hathaway sings the Queen’s “Somebody to Love” at the Kamala Harris fundraiser

At a fundraiser for Kamala Harris in New York City on Monday, Anne Hathaway belted out what could arguably be considered her signature song — although it’s actually one of the legendary rock band Queen’s signature songs.

Yes folks, we’re talking about “Somebody to Love.” They love it, we love it, just about everyone in the world loves it, and probably the Broadway for Harris attendees (the fundraiser organizers) loved it too. ‘

In the middle of the song, the musicians fell silent so Hathaway could speak briefly. She said, “We have a big decision to make, America, you have to make a choice, you have to vote.” Maybe in this election you don’t have a candidate that you love, but you have to have an issue that you, maybe You the one you love. You have to vote for yourself, America.”

Of course, we’re not going to tell you who to vote for, but we agree with the actress that you really should vote, period. Nearly half of all U.S. states have same-day voter registration. Find out if you live in one of them here.

Meanwhile, this obviously isn’t the only blast from the past Hathaway has released lately. She also stars in The Princess Diaries 3 and is producing the film through her own production company, Somewhere Pictures.

The sequel will be directed by Adele Lim, who wrote the film adaptation of “Crazy Rich Asians” and directed and produced the brilliant (and criminally underrated) 2023 comedy “Joy Ride.”

Debra Martin Chase is producing the Disney film, and executive producers include Lim’s producing partner Naia Cucukov and Melissa Stack.
