preamble

Yesterday was not a good day for Britain and Ben Ainslie. They were already 2-0 down against New Zealand and initially made a mistake at the start – with Ainslie at the helm – which, with the subsequent 75-meter penalty, practically cost them the race.

But that wasn’t the end of the deterioration either. The wind then died down, denying them the opportunity for immediate redress. Ainslie then endured a testy exchange with a New Zealand commentator who called him a “f***ing wanker” after it ended, only to discover his microphone was still on. Happy Sunday, Sir Ben!

Burt, that was then and this is now. Our teams will return to the start for the fourth race shortly, knowing that a win for Great Britain will change things… but if New Zealand win the lead will look unassailable.

Start: 2:00 p.m. local time, 1:00 p.m. BST
