Aidan Hutchinson was carted off the field after appearing to be injured

Star defensive end for the Detroit Lions Aidan Hutchinson was carted off the field after suffering an apparent injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s (Oct. 13) game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hutchinson was seen on the ground after suffering a sack on second down with 11:57 left in the third quarter. The Lions confirmed that Hutchinson had suffered a lower leg injury and would be out for the remainder of the game.

“#Lions Injury Update: DL Aidan Hutchinson, lower leg, out,” the Lions’ PR-X account confirmed.

Hutchinson recorded three tackles, including the sack on his final play before leaving Sunday’s game. The Michigan native recorded 16 tackles and 6.5 sacks through the first five games of the 2024 NFL season.

Hutchinson has been one of the biggest factors in the Lions’ turnaround since being selected by the franchise at No. 2 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former University of Michigan star was voted a Pro Bowler in his rookie season and recorded a season-best 11.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2023 as the franchise won its first division title since 1991, an appearance in the NFC Championship Game and won the playoffs.
