After playing at McDowell Intermediate High School on Friday, North Allegheny’s water polo teams moved to Cathedral Prep’s Hagerty Family Events Center for the second day of the Erie Challenge 2 tournament. It was a tough schedule for NA as they played the top teams in every conference in Pennsylvania, and Saturday didn’t go well for the Tigers as the NA boys lost 9-6 to La Salle and 7-4 to Wilson lost, while the NA girls lost their bout 10-0 to Wilson.

It was close for the boys in their first game against La Salle, with the score tied 4-4 at halftime. Callan Bunger And Tabari Morgan each scored two goals for the Tigers. Mason Shantz had a goal and three steals Caden Currykosky added the other marker. Filip Malezanov had two steals on defense. Mike Stefanko made eight saves.

In the second game against Wilson, Morgan scored two more goals. Currykosky had a goal and two steals, while Shantz helped with two steals. Logan Purnell added the other target. Stefanko also made eight saves in this game.

On the girls side Bella Spino had five steals for North Allegheny. Mikaela Dassanaike And May Coffman Everyone added, stealing. Katherine Vales made seven saves in net.

The North Allegheny girls now have a record of 7-8. NA’s boys team is now 12-5. The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday when they host McDowell. The girls start at 5:00 p.m. and the boys start at 6:00 p.m. at North Allegheny High School. This is senior night and the game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
