Vice President Kamala Harris ended a three-day Western swing with a campaign rally Friday in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Earlier in the day, she virtually participated in a White House briefing with President Joe Biden about recovery efforts from Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

“The bottom line is we’re in this for the long haul,” Harris said, seeking to reassure those who suffered losses from the hurricane that they would receive help from the government.

Biden took aim at his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, saying he was “simply the biggest slip of the tongue” for disinformation about the government’s response to the hurricanes. The president added that disinformation is a “permanent condition for some extreme people” but that he believes the country as a whole wants facts and bipartisan cooperation to deal with natural disasters.
