Chiefs host Saints on MNF – Here’s everything you need to know

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Sports fans in Kansas City will have a busy day on Monday.

The Kansas City Royals play the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the ALDS in the Big Apple. Then the Kansas City Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

Read on to learn everything you need to know if you have a ticket to Monday’s game at GEHA Field in Arrowhead.

PARK

  • Parking lots open at 2:30 p.m

Fans are asked to purchase parking permits in advance through the Chiefs website. Purchasing a parking space before arriving at the stadium helps traffic move faster and everyone gets into the parking spaces as smoothly as possible.

Tickets and parking passes are available on mobile only and fans are asked to save them to their mobile wallet before arriving at the stadium for easier access.

Fans using rideshare services may drop off and pick up at the Missouri Welcome Center between Gates 1 and 2 at the Blue Ridge Cutoff.

TRAFFIC

Fans should expect significant delays on Monday evening.

Gaming traffic is expected to be heaviest during rush hour as people try to get home from work too.

The worst congestion is expected on Interstate 435 and Interstate 70, as well as on the roads surrounding the Truman Sports Complex.

Drivers not traveling to the game are asked to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

STADIUM GATES

  • The CommunityAmerica Club level opens at 4:30 p.m
  • The stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m
  • Kick-off is 7:15 p.m

There is also a special priority access zone for active and retired military personnel at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

AWARDS

According to the Chiefs, country musicians Haley & Michaels will perform the national anthem.

The Lawrence Honor Guard will present the colors.

The flyover will be conducted by the 815th Airlift Squadron from Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.

GEHA DECK

The Chiefs said former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will serve as the game’s drum honoree.

The Tony DiPardo Spirit Leader will be U.S. Army Corrections Brigade Private First Class Marcus Arreola.

LAMAR HUNT LEGACY SEAT

This week’s Lamar Hunt Legacy Seat honoree is Shannon Steele.

She serves on the board of MS Moments and the Chiefs said she has played a critical role in providing essential services to nearly 250 Iowa families living with MS.

Shannon has been a Chiefs fan since she was a child and has been a Chiefs season ticket member for eight years.

Concessions

All concession stands and other retail outlets are cashless and offer Chiefs Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Other sellers offer scan and chip reader card options.

Select stands offer hot dogs, pretzel bites and popcorn for $5 each.

All concession stands will also be offering discounted sodas for $5, in addition to the full menu items in addition to the $5 items.
