This weekend the Delmont Apple ‘n Arts Festival will be full of live music and fun. The festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday at Shield’s Farm in Salem and has plenty to do both days.

A comprehensive live music program on both days rounds off your festival trip. Activities include face painting, train rides, a maze and apple throwing. The Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association will conduct demonstrations and sell various products such as cornmeal and apple cider. There will also be tractor parades and parades.

The event is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. View the full list of artists and get directions at delmontapplenarts.com.

Creepy caboose

Something spooky is happening this Saturday at the Darlington Station, 3032 Idlewild Hill Lane, Ligonier Township. The sixth annual Creepy Caboose event is perfect for kids and adults alike.

Attendees can listen to (friendly) ghost stories around the campfire, participate in face painting, see the Ligonier Rail Road Museum’s historic bobber caboose, and take part in sophisticated demonstrations. There will also be a food truck recap.

The event is free and takes place on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more on the Ligonier Valley Rail Road Museum Facebook page (facebook.com/LVRRA).

Puppets and performance

Be one of the first to see You Are Here’s new Puppets and Performance exhibition. The opening is this Saturday at 6pm and is free and open to the public.

The exhibition offers a close look at the magic of puppets, from their creation to their dramatic animation by puppeteers. It features pieces by artists Tom Sarver, Joann Kielar, Lindsay Goranson and others.
