The first and only vice president debate between the Democratic governor of Minnesota Tim Waltz and Republican Senator from Ohio JD Vance took place on Tuesday at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York. This high-stakes debate covered many crucial issues for American voters US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5th.

Throughout the debate, both vice presidential candidates – Tim Walz and JD Vance – defended their vice presidential running mate. Kamala Harris And Donald Trumpwhile simultaneously attacking their opponents’ positions.

There were sharp barbs in the 90-minute debate Iran-Israel conflictwith both candidates presenting their positions on the issue.

Trump-Vance promise stability

Republican JD Vance, 40, who represents Donald Trump’s campaign, stressed the importance of supporting Israel’s right to defend itself in the face of Iran’s aggression. Vance praised Trump’s foreign policy record and suggested that the world is more stable under Trump because of his “peace through strength” philosophy.

Vance argued that Trump’s decisive actions in the Middle East, including withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, have strengthened U.S. deterrence against hostile actors.

He criticized the Kamala Harris administration for releasing over $100 billion in Iranian assets, suggesting that this enabled Iran to launch attacks against Israel and possibly the United States.

Vance also noted that Donald Trump had managed to maintain stability in the region without falling into major conflicts and said that Trump’s leadership would make the American dream come true again.

Harris-Walz criticizes Trump’s dealings with Iran

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who represented the Harris campaign, stressed the importance of “steady leadership” in dealing with the Iran-Israel conflict.

He outlined the administration’s commitment to helping Israel defend itself, citing recent joint U.S.-Israel efforts to stop Iran’s failed attack.

Walz emphasized the administration’s focus on diplomatic coalitions and military preparedness, noting that over 40,000 U.S. troops have been deployed to the region to prevent a major conflict.

Walz criticized Trump’s foreign policy and accused him of destabilizing the situation in Iran by withdrawing from the nuclear deal without offering a better alternative.

“Donald Trump withdrew this program and put nothing else in its place,” Walz said, blaming Trump’s “erratic” leadership for Iran’s progress toward a nuclear weapon.

He also mentioned Trump’s failure to respond adequately when Iranian missiles injured U.S. troops and emphasized the importance of consistent, strong alliances under Harris.

Walz reiterated Harris’ steady hand during multiple crises and contrasted that with what he described as Trump’s erratic decision-making, which Walz said threatened both U.S. and Israeli security.
