Trump’s Silly Vice Presidential Debate “Play by Play”: What You Missed

A day before Tuesday’s vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz, Donald Trump announced that he would be conducting a “personal PLAY BY PLAY” on Truth Social, during which he managed to squeeze in three derogatory nicknames for his Democratic opponents:

So what were Trump’s comments on the VP debate? It was surprisingly difficult to participate. While Trump has been back on X for months, he only posted one comment there during the debate. The rest of his observations were exclusively on Truth Social, where he has around 83 million fewer followers.

For those curious about what Trump said but not enough to bother registering with Truth Social (or browsing the various X-accounts that post his “truths”), here is a recap of Trump’s mostly silly debate comments.

Trump kept all of his debate comments on Truth Social except for this one post. While Walz and Vance discussed the impact of ousting Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices Roe v. WadeTrump claimed on Twitter, “Everyone knows I would not support a federal abortion ban.” He reiterated that he does not support postpartum abortion, which is not a thing, and then concluded, “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Back at Truth Social, he tried to back up his claim that he’s more trustworthy than Democrats on abortion by lashing out at transgender people:

Walz said he has “become comfortable with school shootings” as he explained why his stance on dealing with school shootings has changed. Presumably he meant school shooting victims? Trump was also confused:

Trump has accused moderators of treating him unfairly in virtually every debate since 2015. So why stop now?

Trump was particularly upset that the moderators corrected Vance at several points despite saying they would not check facts during the debate.

He was really grasping at straws here.

A weak attack on Walz by a clearly uninspired Trump.

When in doubt, Trump reverted to his misogynistic nickname for Walz.

Sure, Biden uses the term a lot. But Trump really didn’t hear anyone else say “people”?

Trump’s favorite topic!
