TL;DR

  • Apple is expected to hold a media event towards the end of October.
  • The company is likely to announce new iPad models and M4-powered Macs.
  • Those interested can follow the live stream on YouTube, the Apple website and the Apple TV app.

Now that we have the iPhone 16 launch behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the company’s upcoming release. If the rumors turn out to be true, we can expect Apple to hold another event in October to unveil new iPads and Macs. If you’re wondering what to expect and how to watch the live keynote, you’ve come to the right place.

When does the Apple event take place?

Last year, the corresponding Apple event took place on Monday, October 30th. So while the company hasn’t announced any official dates yet, we’re guessing this year’s launch will take place on Monday, October 28th. Notably, the 2023 keynote began at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET), which is unusual for Apple events. Likewise, it’s still unclear whether Apple will hold a late keynote this time or return to its typical 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) timing.

With the new iPhones and Apple Watches out of the way, the Cupertino company is shifting its focus to iPads and Macs. During the October event, Apple could unveil the iPad Mini 7 and the entry-level iPad 11. Aside from performance upgrades and refreshed finishes, no major design changes or introductions are expected on any of the models.

Additionally, Apple could announce its first batch of M4 Macs during the October event. The chip already powers the iPad Pro (2024) and will also find its way into the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Mini. Aside from the chip bump, the Mac Mini will reportedly get a chassis overhaul for the first time in over a decade that could significantly shrink its size.
