Arrest after bow and arrow found in car parked near House of Lords | Politics News

A man has been arrested after a bow and arrow was found in his car parked near the House of Lords.

The suspect was arrested near the Peers car park at 6.15am on Wednesday, September 25, Metropolitan Police said.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, breaching the Serious Organized Crime Act and the Police Act and interfering with a vehicle.

He was sentenced under the Mental Health Act and bailed pending further inquiries.

The House of Lords and House of Commons have been in recess for party conferences since Friday September 13, meaning only a limited number of MPs and peers are working in the buildings.

A Met spokesman said: “A man was arrested near Peers car park at around 6.15am on Wednesday September 25 on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

“Bow and arrows were found in his car on site.

“He was also arrested for breaching the Serious Organized Crime Act and the Police Act and for interfering with vehicles.

“He was subsequently dismissed under the Mental Health Act and remains in the care of medical professionals.”
