Free movies to stream this October on Freevee, Tubi, Pluto TV and more

Why pay for a handful of streaming platforms when there are tons of great free TV services like Tubi, Pluto TV, Freevee and Fawesome that release tons of newly released and original films every month? You may not even know it, but these services have impressive content libraries full of Oscar winners, cult horror and comedy classics that can fill your schedule with an endless supply of hits.

Tubi is releasing several new original films this month, including the thrillers “Killer Nurses” (premiering October 17) and “Vicious Murder” (out October 11), as well as the documentary special “Famously Haunted: Hollywood,” which offering a look at some of the most haunted locations in Los Angeles, out October 9th. These films, as well as an extensive list of horror, comedy and children’s films, are coming to the free platform this month.

The Roku original film A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery, which offers an intimate look at the WNBA legend – and was produced by LeBron James, who also stars in the film – arrives this month along with dozens of other films on the platform, too.

On Pluto TV you can watch legendary horror films like Bram Stoker’s Dracula alongside cult favorites like Jennifer’s Body and Vampire in Brooklyn. For award-winning films, check out Fawesome for Gladiator and The Imitation Game or Plex for classics like 1973’s The Wicker Man, LA Confidential and many more.

In the original Tubi film “Killer Nurses,” a nurse dies under mysterious circumstances. Two traveling nurses investigate her death, leading them to a web of secrets and clues that point to an egomaniacal doctor whose oath to do no harm seems a little flawed.

20th Century Fox

Not only can you watch the entire Buffy the Vampire Slayer series on Tubi this month, but you can also watch the 1992 film that started it all. In case you forgot, the cast reads like a who’s who of beloved (and sadly recently deceased) Hollywood talent: Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens and Luke Perry joined Kristy Swanson in our first introduction to this generation’s chosen one, Buffy Anne Summer.

A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery (Oct. 16)

Two-time WNBA champion Renee Montgomery is the subject of this new documentary, which profiles the star athlete who went from broadcaster to co-owner of the Atlanta Dream. Montgomery is interviewed alongside NBA legends LeBron James, Ray Allen and Julius Erving to discuss their legacy and future in basketball. The original film premieres October 16th on the Roku Channel.
