Randi Mahomes, Patrick’s mother, shared a touching photo from a hospital while watching her son’s Kansas City Chiefs with her ailing father, Randy.

“Today I’m watching a game with dad,” Randi, 48, wrote on X. “Prayers for my dad please.”

The photo shared by Randi shows her daughter Mia sitting next to a hospital bed while Patrick’s grandfather Randy lies facing the television. What appears to be on the screen is Sunday’s game between the Chiefs and Chargers in Los Angeles, which Kansas City won 17-10 to improve to 4-0.

The specific health issue has not been made public, but Randi revealed earlier this month that her father was not feeling well.

“Prayer warriors, please pray for my daddy,” she wrote on September 13th. “He’s in the hospital and not feeling well.”

There was an outpouring of support online. Many respondents told Randi that they were actually praying for her father.

Like teammate Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna, Randi has become a celebrity as her son has won three Super Bowls in five seasons.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Randi revealed that Kelce gave her the endearing nickname “Mama Mahomes” and uses it every time they meet. She also spoke about the family atmosphere at Arrowhead Stadium and the sense of community between Patrick and his teammates.

“It almost feels like a little family, you know.” “I love that,” Randi told the publication. “I love meeting Chiefs players because you don’t always meet everyone.”

Randi has admitted that she sometimes gets overwhelmed by fame.

Randi opened up about her struggles with fame during a July appearance on The Mom Game podcast, where she admitted to being jealous of friends who aren’t related to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Jr not to mention his brother Jackson is a well-known social media influencer.

“I look at some of my friends on social media and I’m jealous that they’re so normal.” [life]” she said. “Their children are the same age as Patrick (28) and Jackson (24), and they have this normal situation and we don’t. It’s super difficult.

“We just want to be normal and go out to eat,” she continued. “We don’t do that.”

The problem with her son’s celebrity persists even when she works as an event planner – which she has done for 20 years.

“It’s really hard at my job because 90 percent of my phone calls have nothing to do with work,” she said. “I still go to work and want to live a normal life.”

Of course, a normal life is something of a pipe dream when your eldest son has signed a $480 million NFL contract.

But even though Randi admits she’s been lucky, she feels overwhelmed by the problems that fame can bring to her family.

“As much as I say we are blessed and Patrick is living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life,” Randi explained. “It was really hard to reconcile… being proud of him and the hate you and the kids get.” I can’t even explain how hard it was. I cried a lot. I’m struggling with this.’

Much of that fight occurred after Jackson was charged with assault and three counts of aggravated sexual battery. The judge later dropped the felony charge, citing the alleged victim’s lack of cooperation.

As Randi put it, Jackson “went through the crisis,” but “the truth came out.”

Brandi is not only the grandmother of Patrick’s two children, but also the mother of their 12-year-old daughter Mia.

At age 20, she gave birth to Patrick Jr. and Patrick Sr. was a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins.

In fact, Patrick Jr.’s godfather is former Twins backup LaTroy Hawkins.

Randi admits that Patrick Jr. is “realizing his dream,” but she can’t help but think her other two children aren’t so lucky.

But if there’s one good thing about her son’s fortune and fame, it’s that Randi no longer has to worry about finances.

“They don’t even need money from me to take them to dinner,” she said of her children. “You’re inviting me to dinner.”
