What to do in Minnesota: Things to do this weekend (October 4-6)

The first weekend of October is full of all kinds of fall events, including an Oktoberfest, a harvest sale, and a Bloody Mary festival.

  • Fat Pants Brewing Co., Eden Prairie
  • Oct. 5, 11 a.m
  • Free participation

Celebrate beer and celebrate true fall at Fat Pants Brewing Co’s Oktoberfest. Share German beer, giant pretzels and more at this year’s event. The brewery starts its Oktoberfest Märzen.

  • Union Depot, St. Paul
  • Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m
  • Tickets: General admission is $50, VIP admission is $67.50

Bloody Mary fan? You’re in luck this weekend. Head to Union Depot where there is a Bloody Mary Festival offering a wide variety of drinks. A ticket includes unlimited Bloody Marys, food and drink tastings, and more.

With a VIP ticket you have more time to enjoy your Bloody Mary and avoid the crowds.

  • Anoka County Fairgrounds
  • 4th-6th Oct., 11 a.m. to 7 p.m
  • Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children (ages four and under get in free)

Visit the Anoka County Fairgrounds for the Fall Festival. The event features over 100 craft vendors, a wide variety of food, a beer garden and a carnival. The festival will also include a haunted house and pumpkin picking.

  • Free participation

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum hosts the Auxiliary Harvest Sale, a large sale on all types of goods. Shop knitwear for the whole family or nature-inspired home accessories, soaps and candles.

You can also purchase Arboretum wood creations, fall wreaths and arrangements, children’s toys and more.

  • Minnesota Zoo
  • Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m
  • Tickets are $65 and the event is suitable for 21+ people

Visit the Minnesota Zoo this Friday for spooky fun at the Hoots, Howls & Growls event. This adults-only event features a DJ with live music, a costume contest, a buffet and plenty of drinks while you dance the night away.

Admission to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is included in your ticket.
