NASCAR Studios Confirms Full Speed Season 2: Here’s What We Know So Far

NASCAR Studios has officially announced the second season of “Full Speed,” set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. This announcement comes after the success of the first season, which follows a similar format to the Formula 1 series “Drive to Survive”, the golf series “Full Swing” and the rugby series “Six Nations: Full Contact”.

The creation of Full Speed Entertainment was a huge milestone for both NASCAR Studios and Words + Pictures. The aim of this joint venture is to develop a comprehensive range of racing-related content, including documentaries, series, special events, studio shows and podcasts.

Words + Pictures CEO and Founder Connor Schell commented on the second season, as quoted by NASCAR.com:

“I couldn’t be more excited to expand our partnership with NASCAR with Full Speed Entertainment.

“The first season of Full Speed was a truly rewarding project for our company, and it was exciting to work side by side with NASCAR Studios every step of the way. The opportunity to bring more great racing content to audiences and partner with NASCAR opens up a wealth of possibilities that we can’t wait to start working on.”

Tim Clark, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of NASCAR, revealed the potential he recognized early on in the collaboration.

“From the beginning of the Full Speed process, I knew we wanted to find more ways to collaborate and pursue new opportunities for NASCAR as the cultural demand for compelling sports stories continues to grow.”

“Words + Pictures is the leading storyteller in sports content, and Connor’s team excels at not only generating big ideas and visions, but also executing them in ways that captivate large audiences.”

Full Speed Entertainment has ambitious plans for the future. Emmy winner Tally Hair is set to oversee the development of several new projects as the partnership’s general manager.

If “Full Speed” has similar success to the Formula 1 Netflix series “Drive to Survive,” it could be hugely successful for the sport. “Drive to Survive” brought a whole new fan base to Formula 1 and significantly increased the sport’s popularity in the United States.

The first season, released earlier this year, consisted of five episodes and kicked off just before the Cup Series Playoffs. Although no details about the second season have been released yet, it is expected to follow a similar format.

A release date has not yet been set, but the first season was released on Netflix in January, so a release is expected in January 2025.

Further details will follow in the coming months.
