BALTIMORE – At the start of Week 4 in the NFL, there were only three teams still undefeated and the Buffalo Bills not only one of them, but they may have been the most impressive of the group.

The Bills won their first three games over the Cardinals, Dolphins and Jaguars by 64 points, the highest point differential in the league, and the second-highest through three games in Bills history behind only their plus-74 in the 1992 season.

However, their three victims entered Week 4 with a combined record of 2-7, and while Sunday’s opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, are only 1-2, they will without question be the toughest test to date for the Bills, especially at M&T Bank Stadium.

“Going on the road is never easy, especially in this environment,” Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said. “It’s going to be a great atmosphere. For a football fan, it’s games like this you look forward to. I’m fortunate to be able to coach in that, so we’ll be we’re excited for it.”

Bills fans are excited, too. There was a perception that the Bills were a team in decline before 2024 began, but the 3-0 start has the passionate followers pounding their chests.

“Here in Buffalo the expectations get real big, real real fast,” said edge rusher Von Miller. “If you look at these banners, we got four AFC championships and four Super Bowls that we went to and we lost. The whole Bills Mafia is just, it’s just waiting for a Super Bowl here, but we got to manage those expectations, just keep it small, and just continue to play our game. And that’s what’s been working for us, for sure.”

The Bills are no longer undefeated. Buffalo (3-1) was routed by the Baltimore Ravens (2-2), who shredded the Bills on the ground.

Derrick Henry rushed for 199 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries and added a receiving touchdown and Lamar Jackson completed 13 of 18 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown.

Josh Allen went 16 of 29 for 180 yards, lost a fumble and was sacked three times.

The Bills suffered their worst regular-season loss since Nov. 21, 2021 when they were pummeled at home 41-15 by the Colts. This was the first time in 43 regular-season games that the Bills have lost a game by more than six points,

Mitchell Trubisky replaces Josh Allen and Bills punt – 5:37 4th quarter

Josh Allen’s night is done. The Bills went three-and-out in MItchell Trubisky’s first possession.

Ravens punt – 7:17 4th quarter

Sean McDermott won a challenge when Isaiah Likely’s catch ruling was reversed to an incompletion. Jordan Stout punted 43 yards to the Bills’ 6-yard line.

Bills go three-and-out – 10:53 4th quarter

Josh Allen threw three straight incompletions. Sam Martin punted 52 yards and Deonte Harty returned returned it 15 yards to the Ravens’ 33-yard line.

Ravens 35, Bills 10: Patrick Ricard jumps on fumble in end zone for Baltimore touchdown

Derrick Henry finally made a mistake but it still ended up in a Baltimore touchdown. Henry took a second-and-goal carry from 1-yard line and cornerback Rasul Douglas punched the ball loose. Ravens’ fullback Patrick Richard recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown.

Lamar Jackson ran for 19 yards and Henry had a 38-yard run to the Bills’ 2 on the drive.

Tyler Bass misses field goal – 14:55 4th quarter

Josh Allen completed passes of 25 yards to Dalton Kincaid and 21 yards to Keon Coleman but the Bills didn’t come away with any points. Allen lost 16 yards on a sack by Odafe Oweh and it forced Tyler Bass to attempt a 418-yard field goal, which he missed wide left.

Ravens 28, Bills 10: Lamar Jackson scores rushing touchdown

That was easy for the Ravens’ offense. Derrick Henry ripped off a 25-yard run to the Bills’ 29-yard line. On third-and-7, Lamar Jackson completed to a short pass to Justice Hill for 17 yards and then Jackson ran in the 9-yard touchdown.

Josh Allen loses fumble on trick play – 6:20 3rd quarter

Buffalo’s trick play not only didn’t work, it got Josh Allen banged up. Curtis Samuel took a direct snap and pitched the ball back to Allen. Baltimore linebacker Kyle Van Noy leaped and knocked the ball out of Allen’s hand as the quarterback was rearing back to throw and Allen took a shot from defensive tackle Travis Jones. Safety Kyle Hamilton recovered and returned the ball to the Bills’ 44. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey was called for unnecessary roughness during the return.

Buffalo forces three-and-out with Baylon Spector sack – 8:55 3rd quarter

The momentum is swinging Buffalo’s way on defense. On second-and-10, Greg Rousseau and Dorian Williams dropped Derrick Henry for a 1-yard loss. Then Baylon Spector recorded his first career sack by bringing down Lamar Jackson. Jordan Stout muffed the punt but recovered at the Bills’ 19-yard line.

Ravens 21, Bills 10: Ty Johnson rushes for TD after ridiculous Josh Allen completion

Ty Johnson scored the Bills’ first touchdown but Josh Allen did the heavy lifting.

On third-and-5, Allen kept the possession and game alive for the Bills. He evaded pressure and kept drifting toward the right sideline with pump fakes before heaving the ball as he was pushed out of bounds to Khalil Shakir, who got behind the defense during the scramble drill for a 52-yard gain to the Ravens’ 3-yard line. Johnson ran in the touchdown on the next play.

Baltimore starts second half with three-and-out – 13:53 3rd quarter

The Ravens couldn’t extend their lead to open the second half. Lamar Jackson was flagged for intentional grounding on first down, and on third-and-20 Jackson threw incomplete for Zay Flowers. Jordan Stout punted 40 yards and Brandon Codrington returned it 6 yards to the Bills’ 40.

Halftime score: Baltimore Ravens 21, Buffalo Bills 3

The Ravens scored on their first three possessions. Baltimore has outgained Buffalo 281-90. Lamar Jackson has completed 11 of 13 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns and Derrick Henry had 109 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries and a receiving touchdown. Josh Allen is 9 of 16 for 42 yards.

Keon Coleman drops deep pass and Bills punt – :42 2nd quarter

Buffalo didn’t come away with any points off the turnover. Baltimore gifted the Bills a first down. The Ravens were docked a timeout when cornerback Marlon Humphrey was injured. Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh tried calling a timeout before the next snap on fourth-and-2, but because a team can’t take two consecutive timeouts between plays, the Ravens were called for a delay of game. Two plays later, Josh Allen went deep along the left sideline for Keon Coleman and the pass went off the rookie wide receiver’s hands. Sam Martin punted 48 yards into the end zone.

Lamar Jackson fumbles and Bills recover – 2:25 2nd quarter

Baltimore looked poised for another score but Buffalo forced a turnover. Lamar Jackson completed a pass to Rashod Bateman for 23 yards to the Bills’ 35. On the next play, Baltimore offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten was called for holding. Then Jackson took off on a 6-yard scramble but went airborne parallel to the ground and he fumbled the ball on a hit from linebacker Dorian Williams. Linebacker Baylon Spector recovered at the Bills’ 39-yard line.

Bills go three-and-out – 5:59 2nd quarter

Buffalo went backward. On third-and-8, Josh Allen was sacked by Kyle Van Noy. Sam Martin punted 59 yards and Deonte Harty returned it 13 yards to the Ravens’ 29.

Ravens 21, Bills 3: Lamar Jackson throws TD pass to Justice Hill

The rout is on in Baltimore.

The Bills defense has been beyond pathetic and the Ravens scored a touchdown for third time in three possessions, this time Justice Hill catching a 19-yard pass from Lamar Jackson after toasting overmatched linebacker Dorian Williams.

This drive went 81 yards in 10 plays and was helped by a third-and-11 conversion and a third-and-14 conversion. The Bills’ defense is finally being exposed having to play with so many backups, and they just lost another player, safety Taylor Rapp.
