Xbox Game Pass: You can now play Frostpunk 2 and more games

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – a CNET Editors’ Choice Award – offers hundreds of games you can play on your Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, and your PC or mobile device $20 a month. With a subscription you get access to a large library of games with new titles – like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – added every month, as well as other benefits like online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles.

Microsoft recently gave its subscribers access to Age of Mythology: Retold and other games, and the company added those games to the service in September.

Frostpunk 2 (PC)

In this city-building survival game, you must make the difficult decisions needed to ensure your community survives in an Arctic apocalypse. Set 30 years after the events of the award-winning Frostpunk, you play as a steward who takes control of the city after the Captain – the player character from the original game – dies. The city is struggling with overpopulation, food and coal shortages, among other things. It’s up to you to build shelters and provide enough food for everyone, while also dealing with the factions vying for power. This game is only available to PC subscribers, including PC and Ultimate Game Pass subscribers.

War groove 2

Dominate the land, sea and sky in this Fire Emblem-style turn-based tactics game. It’s been three years since the Queen of Aurania died, and now a foreign faction is discovering forbidden technology on the shores. It’s up to you and a cast of new characters – including a dog in armor to make it Only the best boy – to stop these factions from wreaking havoc across the country.

Ara: History Untold (PC)

Get ready to build and lead a nation in this turn-based strategy game. You can explore unique areas and biomes, develop your own culture and art, and conduct diplomacy with other nations. If diplomacy fails, you can engage in strategic warfare. Currently, this game is only available to subscribers on PC – meaning you’ll need a PC Game Pass or Ultimate subscription to play.

Games that left Game Pass

While Microsoft added these three games to Game Pass, it also removed nine others. This means that you will have to purchase these games separately if you want to complete your campaign or side quests.
