Sebastian Stan hits back at Marvel criticism

Sebastian Stan hits back at Marvel criticism

Sebastian Stan has hit back at criticism of Marvel films in a new interview.

The actor plays Bucky Barnes in various MCU films and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV show and defends the superhero series after a series of poorly received episodes.

“It’s become really convenient to pick on it [Marvel films]. And that’s okay. “Everyone has an opinion,” he said diversity during a conversation about his appearance as Donald Trump in The apprentice.

“But they are a big part of what contributes to this business and allows us to produce smaller films as well.”

Stan expressed his view that the MCU “contributes in so many more ways than people realize” as part of a broader contribution to the industry.

“Sometimes I protect him because the intention is really damn good. It’s just damn hard to keep making a good film,” he added.

Stan will reprise his Marvel role in the upcoming season lightning*in which a group of villains and morally gray heroes come together to undertake dangerous missions on behalf of the government.

He described Bucky’s role in the film as “kind of similar.” One flew over the cuckoo’s nest – a guy who comes into this chaotic and degenerate group and somehow finds a way to unite them.”

A current trailer for lightning* revealed that the film’s official title actually has an asterisk at the end.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said he wouldn’t explain what that means until after the film’s release. One of the film’s stars, David Harbor, stated that he “can’t say any more,” adding, “What can I say that won’t get me in trouble?”

However, fans are now having a lot of fun speculating about what the asterisk could mean.

lightning* will be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
