Raheem Morris downplays the zero-catch game

The Atlanta Falcons hoped that the transition to new coaching leadership would help tight end Kyle Pitts and allow him to have the best season of his career.

That hasn’t come to fruition in the four weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

Pitts had the least productive game of his career in the Falcons’ 26-24 Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints. It was the first time the 23-year-old went without a catch, despite Kirk Cousins throwing 35 passes.

What’s more concerning for Pitts’ long-term prospects in Atlanta? When his new head coach was asked about involving Pitts more in the offense, he didn’t seem too concerned about his lack of production.

“He had a few goals today. He had a few things that came out of it,” Morris told reporters during a postgame press conference. “To me, stats are really for losers, man. I don’t get involved in something like that.”

What is important to Morris? For him, it was all about getting a win in an important divisional rivalry.

“You go out there and try to win every game,” Morris said. “And we were able to win it today.”
