Ryan Garcia reacts after allegedly being charged by his opponent Devin Haney

Devin Haney has taken his fight against Ryan Garcia beyond the boxing ring. This time the fight was moved to the courtroom. Nearly four months after their heated fight, Haney has accused Ryan Garcia. In a lawsuit filed in New York, Haney accuses Garcia of assault, fraud and breach of contract.

The petition has reignited debate over her game, in which Garcia won but was later banned for a doping violation.

In a fight that took place at Barclays Center, Ryan knocked Devin down several times and won the fight. However, officials later confirmed that the fight was a no-contest because Ryan had tested positive for Ostarine.

Haney is seeking unspecified damages and additional alleged bodily harm at the hands of Garcia because “his competition was limited to a bout that was fought fairly and within the rules.”

“While Devin Haney agreed to participate in a prizefight against Garcia, at no time did he agree to participate in a fight against an individual who had taken a performance-enhancing drug,” the lawsuit states.

Devin Haney claimed Ryan was a fraud because he claimed he “tried to gain weight and failed.” Ryan weighed 143.2 pounds in a 140-pound fight for Haney’s WBC junior welterweight title.

“Haney would never have fought a boxer who tested positive for a PED,” the lawsuit states.

However, the contest continued after Haney agreed to a deal following the weigh-in, making Garcia no longer eligible for the title. Additionally, Ryan later confessed that he had intentionally lost weight.

The lawsuit also targets Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions for breach of contract.

However, Ryan addressed the lawsuit on his social media accounts, claiming that he was merely being sued for carrying out his duties.

“I’m being sued for doing my job. This fight was a Netflix documentary, but this is the finale. Your Honor, he is simply struggling with Left Hook Syndrome,” Ryan wrote on his Instagram account.

“Following the lawsuit Devin Haney filed against Ryan Garcia for fraud, assault and unjust enrichment, Bill Haney should never talk about his street credibility again because Bill has now lost his street credibility and Devin should be ashamed , that Devin beat his ass” because he couldn’t avoid the left hook in the fight!!! The Haneys’ need to get a grip on reality should have put this fight behind them and moved on. If you file a lawsuit over the boxing competition instead, you will not win that lawsuit. “This is an act of desperation by the Haney family,” the post said.
